Polas Tactical baton EKA
The POLAS Tactical EKA baton (short, extendable baton) is certified according to the technical guidelines of the police and approved by the Police Technical Institute (PTI) of the Police Command Academy (PFA) in Münster for use as an operational tool in the context of police duties. The EKA is already in use by various police departments in the German federal states.
Effective defense options
The EKA is very effective when used properly. Strikes to large muscle groups in the upper arm and thigh often incapacitate attackers. The stick also offers versatile techniques for defending against knives and sticks.
User-friendly handling
The EKA opens with a gentle wrist flick or by pulling on the tip, while closing is achieved by pushing the individual bars together after pressing a button at the end of the handle. The impact energy is absorbed by the rubberized handle and sliding rings, which also allow for silent opening and closing.
A removable end ring attached to the handle reliably prevents the stick from slipping. Exclusively for police, customs, or regulatory authorities (exceptions with a firearms permit).
No jamming of the individual segments, reliable and fast extension of the insert stick.
Perfect handling: the practical rubber grip absorbs the impact energy and increases grip. Easy retraction at the push of a button, no stubborn jamming of the sectional bars!
Restrictions on driving
Section 1 of the Weapons Act (WaffG) defines which objects are considered weapons. Crucial to the legality of a telescopic baton is paragraph 2, which stipulates that portable objects intended to reduce a person's ability to defend themselves are considered weapons.
A telescopic baton is therefore subject to the Weapons Act, but is not classified as a prohibited weapon, meaning it can be legally purchased and owned by anyone over the age of 18. Please note the special regulations regarding the transport of the telescopic baton (locked and not accessible).
Carrying a firearm in public is generally prohibited. Exceptions are regulated in Section 42a of the Weapons Act , for example, for theater performances, filming, or photography, as well as in cases of "legitimate interest." The latter is often ambiguous and depends on the individual case.
Official use is a legitimate interest. A telescopic baton can be carried legally in certain cases (e.g., for professional purposes, in traditional customs, or as a sporting device). However, self-defense is generally not considered a legitimate interest.
