- Purposes and legal bases of data processing
We process your data for our own purposes in accordance with the provisions of the European General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the Federal Data Protection Act (BDSG).
Art. 88 GDPR, Section 26 (1) BDSG forms the basis for the processing of data for decisions on the establishment, establishment, and implementation of employment relationships. In addition, the relevant legal basis for processing for the initiation of contractual relationships is Art. 6 (1) (b) GDPR, for the protection of legitimate interests Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR, or based on consent Art. 6 (1) (a) GDPR, if you provide such consent. The legal basis for reimbursement of expenses is Art. 6 (1) (c) and (f) GDPR.
A legitimate interest exists, for example, in the following cases:
Once an employment contract has been concluded, data is stored in the data subject's personnel file. This data then serves as a basis for the data subject's future professional development (e.g., identifying training and development opportunities/needs, promotion opportunities based on existing qualifications, etc.).
Once an employment contract has been concluded, the data will also be stored in the personnel file of the person concerned to monitor for misuse.

If your application is of interest to another company in our group without you having applied there, we will ask you whether we may forward your application to that company.
- Duration of data storage
As a general rule, we delete or anonymize your data as soon as it is no longer required for the purposes stated above, unless temporary storage is still necessary. We process and store your personal data for the duration of the application process. If the application procedure leads to employment, your data will be transferred to your personnel file and stored there for the duration of the employment relationship. If the application does not lead to an employment contract, the data will be deleted or anonymized no later than six months after receipt of the rejection. This does not apply if the processing and storage of your personal data is necessary to assert, exercise, or defend legal claims.
In individual cases, certain data may be stored for longer periods (e.g., travel expense reports). The storage period is then determined by the statutory retention periods, for example, under the Tax Code (6 years) or the Commercial Code (10 years). Finally, the storage period is also determined by the statutory limitation periods, which are usually three years.
If you have not been hired but your application is still of interest to us, we will ask you whether we may keep your application on file for future vacancies.
